A Passel of M1903s

Here's a photo of my Grandfather's company at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey taken in 1942. I believe that it is graduation from a Signal Corps school. Look at all those beautiful M1903s!

Gramps had been a Master Sergeant in the North Dakota National Guard and was activated on December 8, 1941. He accepted an appointment to OCS and in this picture was a 2nd Lieutenant. That's him in the middle of the three officers saluting in the front row.
 
I think I heard one guy say, "I hope we get M1s before they ship us overseas."

I notice that your grandfather is presenting arms with the rifle, while the men on either side, either unarmed or armed with pistols, are giving the hand salute.
