A pair of Aces

3 years ago I bought a 1979 made Service Model Ace (O1974)

It was not in very good condition, some wear and blueing loss, the trigger was badly Dremeled to “soften” the edges and it had a modified threaded barrel to accommodate a silencer. But it was reasonably priced at $ 600.

I cleaned it up, changed the trigger and bought a second NOS original barrel. I’ve shot this gun quite a lot, it’s been reliable and a ton of fun.

So when I recently saw this ANIB 1978 model for sale I couldn’t resist. Bought it for $ 1000.-

The LGS who arranged the transfer kindly gifted me a vintage Colt pouch

Not sure if I keep the old one or if I sell it

Aces/Conversion Units are fun, and unlike a lot of rimfire 1911s, they feel like real guns, being all-steel.
That zippered case is cool.
