A NEW WAY TO CAR JACK (NOT A JOKE)

You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car, and get inside, then you start the engine and shift into REVERSE and you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space and notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out of you car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.
When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off!

Your engine was running and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.
And guess what ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car….

BE AWARE OF THIS SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

Just dive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later. and be thankful that you read this email.

I hope you will forward this to friends and family…especially to women! A purse contains all your identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!

Haven't heard of this tactic before, very interesting. It will be a bad day when criminals actually start to use their brain.

Wow, this is wrong on so many levels.

First, and as already noted, this is fictional
Second, it isn't new and this particular type of story dates back nearly two years
Third, the notion of using a distraction or obstruction to get somebody away from their car is NOT new.

This is yet another one of those types of stories that tends to get popularized during a time of year when people want to feel safe, but with have other things on their mind. No doubt we will see the stories of the knockout perfume samples in the parking lot, and other such stories as the xmas season progresses.

I really wonder if poor Lt. Tony Bartolome of the Florida Highway Patrol is getting swamped with calls and emails over this. He is a real person in the FHP, but there is no indication that he actually sent out this email. I looks like somebody just tacked on his name to give it credibility.

It would explain why I never heard of it before, but after recent local events, I figured anything was possible. Thanks for the quick clarification guys, saves me the time of having to "check into it" to verify it's reliability.

This is also the perfect reason why I walk around my car from about 50 feet away and work my way into it using ever tightening concemtric circles. I check to see if there is anyone in my backseat as well as any fluids mysteriously leaking from under my car that weren't there or leaking before........
