A new "used" gun ...

I just bought a Ruger LCR in .22 magnum at Cabela's; the price was so good I couldn't resist ... the gun was listed as used, but I looked carefully when I handled it and could find no evidence it had ever been fired ... when I asked the salesguy how they got it so clean, he said it was part of a consignment they had received of show guns from Ruger ... they couldn't be sold as new, hence the great price, but they had never actually been fired ... ever run into anything like that, or was he blowing smoke? in any case, it's a neat little gun and I'm happy with my find ...

Very rare where I shop. Closest I came to that was a used rifle in 338 win mag. Wife bought it new as a gift for her husband. He shot it one time, too much recoil. She sold it, I to a pawn shop I haunt regularly, I bought it. 2/3 of new price.

Have fun with your new gun, and congratulations on the smart purchase.

As a pawn broker we receive unfired firearms into pawn quite frequently. It's very common for us.
If these firearms are not redeemed we sell them "used, as new" at a reduced price from new.
