I picked up a new PT111 G2 yesterday, took it home, field stripped it, got the excess oil off of it ( there was plenty of it), and put it up overnight with the slide locked back, with the two magazines loaded up. This gun has some stout springs so I thought I'd break them in a bit before shooting. The gun cost $200 + $38 s/h ffl. It has pretty good reviews, but I wasn't expecting much.
I went to the range and ran 200 rounds through it: 50 Blazer brass 124 G; 50 Freedom reloads 124 G; 100 Remington 115 G - all RN.
No stoppages or problems of any kind. I do the same kind of target shooting with all my 9 mms, so I can say that I can hit with this sub-medium 9mm about as well as I can with my medium size G19g3 and my CZp01 - both of which cost twice + as much.
Since this model is something of a knock off of a Glock, I'll mention that the ejected cartridges went 7 to 8 feet to my 5 o'clock- none of them went in my face as Glocks are occasionally known to do.
I bought this thing more or less on impulse which is something that I very rarely do - but in this case I'm glad I did.
