I don't really think the country is polarized. I have to laugh when I hear Jesse Ventura talk about representing the center. Bush and Gore are the center.
The country is prosperous and at peace, and in times like that politics moves to the center, becomes boring, and most people ignore it. That's where we are. There is not that much difference between Bush and Gore on most issues.
Those of us who read and post on this forum may feel like the country is polarized because we feel passionately about one of the few issues where there really is a difference, the right to keep and bear arms.
