This Just in from Lou Alessi, of firearms leather fame...yes, he's a TFL Member too. OK, so it's not exactly party line, but we all need a bit of lighten up.

Capitol Hill to be converted into hotel to be rented out to tourists visiting Smithsonian and other D.C. attractions, net income from which to be split between Goreland and Bushland. Use of Lincoln Bedroom in White House to be split equally between Gore and Bush, for use by their respective major political donors.

Bushland gets Buchanan. Goreland to get Nader. Both to be treated as Bushland and Goreland see fit.

Goreland gets Hillary. Goreland and Bushland to utilize coin toss to determine who gets Bill.[/quote]

Then, the majority of Demon-craps would be grouped together anyway.....

The real question for me is, can I drive my internal-combustion automobile out of the Corzine sector of Goreland before it is outlawed & impounded ?

It would be like that old Lee Majors movie where he digs a racing car out from under the garage and tries to get cross-country by siphoning gas from abandoned gas stations !

Jeez, to get to Freedom, I'd need to go from NJ clear across PA to Ohio or WV. Make a hole, sailor - coming thru !
 
Instead of by states, split the country by assembly districts. GW would have most of the country. Also each state should break down the electoral votes by assembly districts (like Maine). The PRK would have given GW 30-40 votes. We would also not have the current situation in Florida.
 
I like the idea, only I vote for a by countie division also. That way my home part of California wouldn't be stuck to the rest of those morons. I still want to be able to go and visit. :)

Public servants selected by lottery, one term. That way you get bell curve of some terrible, some great and most acceptable. Now we get mostly self serving soul sellers.

My brother has said for years that we ought to simply wall in the major cities and leave them to govern themselves.

City dwellers can paint representations of what they think nature is like on the inside of their wall. You know, pictures of big, fluffy wolves frolicking in the snow while a bunny rabbit watches from the bush; pictures of dolphins and orcas playing together with no blood in the water, that sort of thing. It would be just as good or better than the real thing for most of them.
For those city dwellers who prefer "real" nature, we can offer guided excursions into Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and the tamer parts of the Adirondacks. They can have Niagra Falls outright; it's city now anyway.

The city dwellers could pass all the laws against guns, tobacco, bear traps, big cars, pickup trucks, and other accoutrements of country life that they'd like. The rural folks could outlaw governmental land grabs and make it illegal to mind anyone's business but your own.

Rural folks could provide food and raw materials to the folks in the city, in trade for manufactured products produced in the cities. The prices would stabilize after they finally realized that food doesn't grow in a blacktop jungle and that building materials do grow on trees.

And Hillary can stay in New York for the remainder of her (un)natural life.

I like the county/fence idea - but what's the word on passports, immigration, border check-points? Somebody's gonna see the light and want to change horses. :)

is a bad idea... I think Trump should buy these facilities and raise the rent high enough to send them all to cheaper quarters - like Lower Slobovia or something.

That's real life. Back in 1952 a buddy and I on a 72 (long weekend) tried to make it from Norfolk to Leominster MA while short on $$$. On the north end we stopped at many closed stations (early AM hours)to drain hoses. We got there on fumes - literally - ran dry turning into the driveway.

How about we just send all of the Liberals to New York and Gore takes that, We send all of the Moderates to New Hampshire and Bush takes that, and all of those who just want to be left to run their own lives get the rest of the country. We could have a Representative from each remaining state meet a couple of times a year to take care of International stuff and the State Governments handle stuff within each state.

I'm sure it would take a few years to undo the damage that the government has done over the years, but since most of us by definition aren't afraid of hard work it shouldn't take longer than that. :)
 
Well. the Romans during their republic elected two consuls to run the goverenment. They had one years terms. Each commanded half of the four legions which were the standing army. (Tamara can probably fill in the details.)
THey had two consuls because they would not trust anyone man to have complete power. In times os extreme crisis they might elect one man to be dictator, but he held power for a short term usually 60 or 9p days.
