I finally made the deal with my shooting buddy to ‘Officially’ take ownership of my Colt S.A.A., second generation made in 1956, in 38 special. It is a shooter, not a collector, and shoots like a champ! I have not owned a Colt S.A.A. since the early 70’s, and that was also a second Gen. with which I could shoot aspirins from the hip. I may try that again with this one … only on video this time! The Colt has a sound like no other when cocked, and unlike most of the owners of such a fine handgun, there is not one ounce of unnecessary fat on this finely tuned combat weapon of its day. It is the best natural pointing handgun ever made, and feels like a work of art in the hand. This is America’s gun, and copied by everyone, who has to say, “IT is as good as a Colt” it never goes the other way.
