I dont know if this has been done, but if its ok with the admins I'd like to give this a shot.

There is the famous never ending debate of the Mossberg 500 Vs. the Remington 870. There is also the never ending debate of Ford Vs. Chevy.

I want to see if there is any correlation between the two. Do more people who prefer mossbergs prefer fords or chevys and vice versa.

Thanks for your post, I have a theory between the two (it could be nonsense), but it is true so far. I will reveal my theory in a few days...

I dislike Ford and Chevy, was always a Chrysler guy.But ive owned more Chevy's than Fords,i really despised those after owning an 80's Tempo. So i voted Chevy as the lesser of the evil.

Im on my second Mossberg,i sold my first which im still kicking myself for 20 years ago.The 500 Bullpup,i think i sold it for beer and concert tickets in the late 80's for some show i mostly likely remember very little about. So that got the vote also.

Well i will reveal my "theory" now. i really DO NOT want to offend anyone, but here is goes...

my prediction was that its was going to be Ford and Mossberg and Chevy and Remington as the top votes. my prediction was true, with exception. This is a fairly small sample of people and if there were more votes the outcome could be different, but i think its interesting that both Remington and Chevy have been bought out by different companies and that Ford and Mossberg have not (to my knowledge). I'm not saying either is good or bad, as we all know its truly is personal preference. Either one will get the job done and i would have no problem driving a Chevy with a Remington in the tool box, but I would prefer the Ford with the Mossberg, that's all.

anyway, thanks for participating and if you haven't voted please do, i want to see if it changes any.

I guess I am a Mossberg/Chevy guy. Something about that Ford V8 firing order that just bugs me, hehe. Again, I would be happy rolling with either.

Ford tries to compete with chevy and has to soften the product to do so... Remington tries to compete with Mossberg and made a gun that still costs more but has an unpolished barrel and receiver that looks like an afghanny dude made a clone in his bathtub forge:eek: Also The Chevy small block like the 500 can be upgraded for less $$$ than any other v-8... Dollar for dollar you get more bang for your buck souping up a Bow-Tie or 500!:D

I've always thought of Ford/Mossberg as more of a work truck/shotgun and Chevy/Remington as more a pretty truck/shotgun....there for I stick with my Ford/Mossbergs. :)

My vote is more of a vote for Not Ford more than it is a vote for Chevy.

I also voted Remington, but now I'm starting to question my vote. I hate tang safeties, but I also think having to load a shotgun with the shell lifter down is obnoxious. However, I load the shotgun more than I tend to use the safety. I don't like the slide release placement on either shotgun. Both shotguns are quite good, though.

My ideal vote would have been Ithaca and Toyota.

Saab and Saiga. :D

No, not really... Ford/Chevy, Mossberg/Remington, are pretty much distinctions-without-a-difference. I've owned both of the former, currently have both of the latter, and while each has its good and bad points, there's nothing to choose between them, really -- it just depends on whose marketing you like better.

I'll take a Winchester Model 12 and a Toyota, I think... :)

Guess I am a minority - Ford/Rem

I have had both Mossbergs and Rems and would own either one. I just happen to have a Remington right now.

Trucks, on the other hand, are only Fords. A tradition and attitude handed down from my Grandpa to my Dad, to me. Have a feeling my boys will all feel the same way when it is their turn.

Very odd, since I have never had anything else to make me feel they are not as good....

Well I am a Dodge/Beretta guy...seems fitting now that Fiat owns Dodge. Joking aside. I will be buying Ford or Toyota the next go around as they did not require being bailed-out. If I had to get a pump, it would be a Mossberg, seems more of a "working" gun at a better price.
