A holster for the super blackhawk

What type of holster do I need while hunting? A bandoiler or vert.shoulder holster? and what brand is the most comfey.

I've used both the vertical shoulder and the bandolier. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. For me, it all boils down to whether or not I'm also carrying a rifle. If I'm not, then I like the chest bandolier better. If I am carrying a rifle, then the chest bandoler tends to get bumped by the rifle when I'm holding the rifle in the "ready" position (i.e. right hand on grip, left hand on forearm, receiver close to my body). For that duty, the vertical bandolier seems to provide a better carry position.

The holster I'll recommend is neither, but I've found it comfortable for general use, to include hunting and general hiking. I like my Galco Wheelgunner.

I used a bandoleer holster for my scoped Super Redhawk. But again, this is a 9 1/2" handgun with a scope, so that type of holster works best.

I picked up a Super Blackhawk last year, which I do not plan on scoping, so I will be carrying it on my waist. I will carry it when hunting with a rifle, but will use it if something comes within 50 yards. For that reason I plan on getting the Galco SAO since it can be worn both strong side and crossdraw.

Bianchi HuSH brand...

For field or handgun hunting use, I'd look at Bianchi's top rated HuSH rig.
It was designed & tested by noted outdoor writer/hunting expert: Dick Metcalf.
The HuSH is heavy duty nylon & can be worn with a flap for bad weather-extra protection.
Galco, DeSantis & LawMan LeatherGoods all market decent hunting style holsters but my first choice would be the Bianchi HuSH.

See www.natchezss.com or www.Bianchi-intl.com .
