A good preliminary day with my 22/45

Today was perhaps the best day yet this year to go shooting. Nice and warm, about 75 when we got to the range at 10 O'clock. Absolutely no wind and a perfect blue sky.

I think I'm finally finished with my Mark IV 22/45 Lite. It has a Volquartsen Trigger kit, a Tandemkross (TK) Victory trigger, TK Halo bolt racker, TK Game Changer Compensator, Stoner grips, Allchine scope mount and a blue C-More site with a 12 minute dot.

Trigger pull is a very clean and crisp 1 pound, 8 oz.

I tried CCI SV, CCI Green Tag and Aguilla Extra Supreme 40 grain bullets. The CCIs proved to be winners with every round going off and ejecting perfectly. The Aguilla was a disappointment, having to rack the slide after every round. I brought a new Voluartsen light rebound spring but it didn't fit right so I had to stay with the stock unit. I'll file down the front of the spring guide and give it another try next time out.

Shooting at Splatterburst 8 inch targets set up at 15 yards off hand ( seated ) I was able to keep all the shots inside of 6 inches shooting as soon as my dot settled on the target. I hope I can keep up this speed Sunday when I shoot our club's Steel Challenge Match. My goal for accuracy is Minute Of Plate, not very tight groups. As long as I hit the target every time (at speed) I'm happy.

My match ammo is CCI Mini Mags. They always work flawlessly in my 10 magazines. Loaded using a McFadden Ultimate Clip Loader. No more sore thumb after loading 300 rounds of ammo.

I just watched a video by Rob Leatham on how to shoot fast and wanted to try his method. Not concentrating on aiming, just holding the pistol steady and pulling the trigger fast. The TK Victory trigger was a great asset for this method. There was no flitching to make the shots miss right or left. I need to practice this method a lot more to get better at it.

Ooh wee, that's sounds sweet! Pics?

I recently got the non-lite Tactical version and I plan to tinker with it but probably nothing like you've done. 1.5lb trigger? Yikes, guess you won't be carrying that one, eh? ;)

Here it is.

sorry, pic is too small. I'll have to redo it.
