A GOOD First Time M1A shoot....

I have to admit... I've been following the M1A postings in this forum with much interest and no small amount of trepidation.

In fact, y'all have just been making me a tad nervous about how my new M1A was going to shoot!

I took mine to the range today for the first time and my "loaded" model shot great right out of the box.

If folks are interested in reading about it, the thread is here.

I spent all this time worrying for nothing. I am thankful. ;)

Congratulations on your first M1A experience. Just wait until you get to shoot at a long distance target. Just dial the elevation and enjoy it while your M1A hits the target every time!

M1A's are shooters

My M1A was a shooter right out of the box also. My best group ever was a 5 shot 3/8" group at 200yds using the iron sites. Unfortunarely I've never been able to repeat it. It was just one of those days. However, 11/2" groups are fairly common if I do my part. I kept that target with the 3/8" group just for bragging rights.

Cliff, it looks like you were shooting at the Concord/Diablo range from the pic's on the other thread. So where's Saranap?

TMC - Saranap is the "old time" name for the unincorporated of area of Walnut Creek that straddles the Lafayette border.

Good eyes picking out the range! It is, in fact, the USI range in Concord.

I was out there again, today. ;)

I've lived in this area all my life and I can't every remenber hearing that name. I'm in real estate and you'd think I should know that. Are you talking about the area around Olympic Blvd and Rossmore or the area north of 24 some of us in R.E. call Baja-Lafayette? Not tyring to be nosey I just love trivia about this area.

See ya at the range!
