I've done a few searches and just can't seem to find the info I'm looking for. I am thinking of trying to take my Black Badge course so I can start shooting in IPSC and have a few questions for those involved. Currently I do not own any handguns although I have a fair bit of experience with various models through work, just trying to buy 1-2 models that I could get the most bang for my buck. One thing to note is I am in Canada, so magazine size is limited to 10 rounds.
1) To shoot in the Production/Standard/Classic events, would 2 handguns be sufficient? I'm leaning towards 9mm for production since it sounds like that is the caliber size to shoot, and then .45 for the Open/Standard?
2) Do people even compete in the Standard/Classic with the same handgun or do people more or less pick one or the other?
3) Is there anything that you now know about IPSC events that you wish you knew at the beginning?
