A different SIG P210

A couple of months ago I saw an ad for a cheap (CHF 1000) Sig P210-2 (milsurp P49) from a private seller. Cheap 210s are scarce, demand is very strong for 210s.

I met the seller and saw the gun, which had a few issues : some wear, some rough machining marks, non original barrel (different number), mag grip and sights.

On the plus side, the adjustable sights cost 250.- new, the sport wooden grips 120.- and the mag is a high polished early one and they cost more too.

I bought it for CHF 900 and decided to get it hard chromed (satin) at a local specialist. And here is the result :

I am very happy with the result

And it still shoots like a P210 should (25 meters offhand)

That looks great! Congrats! As long as it is accurate and shoots like a 210, you did great! Did you buy new grips or did you have them checkered afterwards? They don’t look original either, especially their condition compared to the rest of the gun.

Thanks. Those are different grips, I bought them a while back just in case, they were made by SIG for civilian sport versions, such as the 210-1 and 210-6 I have

Nice work.
Did you sell the ugly slick grips, adjustable sight, and shiny magazine to pay for the plating?

Not quite yet. I might sell the sights, I kept the mag for my 1949 one and put the grips on my 210-6 for now, they are a bit wider and quite a nice fit for my large hands

Congratulations, Classic12!

You've certainly turned that old pistol into a looker!

And it shoots like any SIG P210 should, too!

Very nicely done!

I love gun control. It lets me hit what I'm shooting at!

@classic 12: I love the Sig 210: all steel, single action, and single stack magazine. A pure classic. When I discovered that there was new production, I purchased one. I think the new ones are stainless steel with some kind of epoxy coating.

I sure like what you did with your 210. Thanks for posting.

I have the 210-6, the 50th Anniversary edition, the Legend in silver, and the new Target (American Made). The dot get out to play much, especially with the ammo prices where they currently are, if you can even find any.
