There are two disadvantages of strong side OWB carry. First, a gun is harder to conceal even with a short or medium length jacket. Second, even with a good belt and holster, it can feel heavy and drag at your pants.
A shoulder holster helps with these problems but is slower to draw and can cause you to sweep your own body. So, it occurred to me that maybe there was a design that capitalized on the strengths of the two without their weaknesses.
I was thinking of a shoulder holster where the holster is vertical and strong side. The topstrap/sights would face more or less forward, rather than toward the rear as in typical shoulder holster fashion. The bottom of the holster would be about the top of the belt and would be canted forward. Presentment would be much like a strong side OWB holster but higher. The cant would allow for a more natural draw.
What do you all think? Has anybody ever seen one like this?
