A day at the range

My oldest boy Fred and his buddy (and my surrogate son) have recently got into shooting, and are having a ball. Some guys from the UK paid Fred a visit and he took them out shooting.

Mike's report: "Fred brought his buddies from the U.K. with us today when we went shooting. It was the first time shooting for one of them and the other had only shot once before. I asked them if they felt any safer back home with gun control and they told me not particularly. They were taking all kinds of photos of each other shooting the various guns we brought. They also took some brass home of each of the different guns they shot. It was kind of pathetic in a way. We all take owning and shooting guns
for granted, but it was really big deal for them. I told them after we finished that the day was made possible by American democracy and the 2nd amendment of the U.S. Constitution."

Dad is feeling pretty good about now.

Back in Russia I had picked up 12ga empties from a skeet course...found a live one once, but my parents must have discarded it. Found a steel .22 empty once, held onto that for years. Pathetic is right!

Never again, and that is guaranteed! Amazing how angry that memory makes me...
