I am fond of the Ruger Blackhawks, and especially the .45s. I bought the top one (7 1/2") in the summer of 1987. Before I took it home, I had my dealer return it to Ruger to fit a Super Blackhawk grip frame and fit a .45 ACP cylinder. (They did that in those days.)
Two years later Hamilton Bowen did an action job, fitted a Millett rear sight, and had Doug Turnbull case color the frame. I used the gun developing handloads using 185gr. JHP to 350 gr. cast bullets. The gun is just shy of 20,000 rounds fired through it. The grips are ebony, from Lett.
One of the advantages of the single action is that you can modify it so easily.
