on multi calber revolvers...
I reciently bought a S&W 610 with the intention of chambering it for 10mm Magnum ( the gun is currently machined for moon clips & chambered for 10mm & 40 S&W with the moon clips )
1st off, beveling the rear of the cylinder for faster reloads... I've heard of this being done, but have no expirience with it, & my local builder has never done it either... no problems with case failure less support from the cylinder??? no extractor problems from doing this ??? ( my extractor seems pretty thin already from the factory machining to fit the moon clips )... how deep & what angle are the chambers being camfored ???
... someone had mentioned the possibility of stripping jackets on some bullet styles on 40 S&W cartridges fired in the 10mm chambers, in previous threads I've posted about this project... now boring to 10mm magnum... gives even more free bore... even in stock form, the 10mm has free bore, as it's chambered to fit the case mouth with out the moon clips, ... since I'll only be useing the gun with moon clips... we are thinking about beveling the "step up" in the cylinder to a 30* angle, which should help keep the 10mm & 40S&W bullets from deforming from hitting the lip after free bore, & chambering to 10mm mag only with the moon clips to cut free bore & increase accuracy... anyone ever done anything similar, & care to chat about it ???
