A Better Understanding

I'm looking to buy a P90 ruger and don't fully understand the features of the DC,saftey only,DAO. I know the mechanics of the DC but I'm looking for a 1911 style SA. Am I stuck w/having to buy that dedicated line of pistol? I've shot a friends P89 and hate the long trigger pull.

If you are looking for a 1911 you won't find it at Ruger!!! DAO stands for Double Action Only. The gun fires after a long pull of the trigger which cocks the gun and fires it after a long trigger pull. The manual safety model is a traditional DA/SA trigger where the first shot is DA and the rest are SA. The Decock you say you understand. All P-Series Rugers have long trigger pulls. However, they tend to be quite smooth!!!

Are you also focused on 45acp? If so, you might want to take a look at a CZ-97. It's DA/SA, with a typically good trigger pull, cocked and locked, and 45acp.

Otherwise, you might take a look at the rest of CZ's line, particularly the -75 and -85.

Agree with CZ 97B as a candidate. All forms of carry, typical CZ quality, just an all around great pistol at $100 to $200 less than most other quality .45s. Its only drawback is its size. This puppy is size big. As a range gun or for home defense it's fine, wouldn't want to carry one all day or try to conceal it.
Take Care

Sorry, I wasn't too clear on my description. I was wondering if the hammer stays cocked after each shot so there isn't such a long trigger pull or do they all go into the DA mode? I'm used to shooting SA revo's, guess I need to shoot my redhawk more to get used too it.
