A Beretta fanboy falters (Glock gets another one)

I can't believe it, but I just placed a Glock 19 Gen 4 on layaway.

My PPS has so quickly won me over as my standard carry pistol (and first striker-fired pistol) that the G19G4 I had my eye on for about 3 years was finally too much to resist as a logical complement. While a P99AS might have made more sense as a full-size counterpart, the G19 is that great perfect size for range use and/or concealed carry and fits me like a glove.

So it has finally happened. Gaston claims another one. God have mercy on my soul.

Don't worry..Berettas' rock as well,I just couldn't deal with the blueing wearing after carrying my Compact for 4 months...

..so it went into the safe & I now carry my baby GLOCK 26...waay cool gun.

I know the feeling. I spent many, many years resisting The Call of the Dark Side before I finally gave in . . . also to a Glock 19. Let me caution you, though, that if you get a holster to fit it, G19s have a nasty way of sneaking into your holster and becoming your EDC.

Shoot it in good health and enjoy!

Can anyone explain why the Gen 4 ergonomics are such an improvement over the Gen 3's? Because I dislike the Gen 3's, but the Gen 4 are noticeably more comfortable to me even though I really couldn't see much difference when I compared them.

Did it come with the funny, green, Tyrolean wool hat with the feather?

Any day now you will begin to smell of elderberries.

Good one.

And maybe start humming 'Edelweiss'.

(Which my better half informed me is NOT an old Austrian folk song but a genuine American song written in 1959 just for 'The Sound of Music'.)

Yes, and I have a sudden urge to claim that Browning copied Gaston Glock, even though I know that can't possibly be true. I also want to start giving other guns insulting names like Sig Suck and CZzz, preferably using horrible grammar. I also want to put Perfection stickers on everything.

Gen 4 has both the interchangeable backstraps and a different texture. I'm sure about the backstraps, not so much about the texture. I have no clue if there are any other differences in terms of dimensions.

I really enjoy Glocks. They work well for me and I enjoy their simplicity. Before I knew it, I had four of them in my safe not long after getting my first one, a gen4 G26. All of mine are gen4 because they fit me very well.

Supposedly, the gen4 grip is 2mm smaller than the gen3 if you have no back straps on it. Then when you put the medium back strap on it, it adds 2mm to the grip and makes it the same size as the gen3 grips. I also like the new texture and larger mag release button.
