A~a~h. The smell of gun powder.

Here in this Neck of the Woods. I know I don't spend enough time enjoying the sport I like most. When was the last time you were out shooting at a range or else where's? What did you take along to shoot? Did you drive home with a smile or were you frustrated because your weapon misbehaved?

Yesterday,,,

I took a college student for her first firearm experience.

She shot five different .22 revolvers,,,
And two different .38 Special revolvers.

She also sent several hundred rounds of ammo through a Bersa Thunder 22.

Just before we left she got brave and touched off a round of .44 Magnum through my S&W 629.

It was a wonderful day,,,
She is now hooked and will get her own pistol.

To top it all off,,,
She bought me two beers for lunch.

Last Thursday and shot my H&K USP .40 then my Ruger Mark II. Also, had my SIG P229 and S&W M442, but time was not on my side. I was amazed at how good a marksman the Ruger Mark II makes out of me.

Been way too long for me. Last outing was great (out with the 3 kids and a nephew) but was way too long ago. Combination of bad weather (you know what I mean, bet you're not 50 miles from me Sure-Shot) and way too busy! :( between work, Boy Scouts, and graduations, there's just been no time left for me. I'm going to turn that all around pretty soon here though and make up for it the 2nd half of the summer!!! And i can't wait! :)

I've been looking at my 2nd NEOS and comparing it to the 1st one (that never has any issues). Think I've found the problem and hopefully fixed it. I'm dying to get out with a couple hundred rounds to find out.

Most times I shoot at least twice if not more per week. Yesterday. I shot more than I care to take the time to type out. 2 bolt action rifles, 2 revolvers, 4 semi autos, and a cap and ball revolver. Though I came home early due to the heat. 104 in the shade means I am going home to cool off. I did have a smile on my face after I wiped away the sweat.

Week and a half ago I put 200 rounds through my G23, and about 300 rounds through my Ruger 10/22T.

Both performed flawlessly, and yes...it put a huge grin on my face.

My last time out I was actually on a date. The girl said she wanted to do something different than the normal dinner and movie routine. Brought out my M9A1 and Desert Eagle and had a blast, figuratively and literally. For her first time shooting she did great and was shooting a great group with the .44 Desert Eagle. She said it was the most fun she had ever had on a first date. Still seeing her now so something must have worked.:D
