9x19/9x23

Read somewhere that the 9x23 can be shot out of a 9mm semi-auto with a simple barrel change. Does anyone have any info? If true what 9's have this option and/or can handle the extra pressure? Are there aftermarket barrels available to make the switch?

I sincerely doubt it. This would entail someting like the conversion to .45 Super, and not that many pistols can take either round even then.

You are dealing with ballistics on the high end of the .357 mag spectrum and approaching 10mm. No company that make guns in 10mm uses a small frame (the .40 glock 22 is same size as 17, the 20 is the same as the .45 model 21).

The only 9x23s out there are 1911 based that I'm aware of.

A 9x23 has to have a fully supported chamber, so you would need to have your frame cut for a fully supported barrel. the 9x23 rounds will not fit in 9mm magazine because of the OAL.
