9x18 Makarov Hollow Points by Georgia Arms ???

I was happy to see that Georgia Arms has added 9x18 95 gr. JHP to their list of ammunition. It runs between $11.50 and $11.95 per box of 50, depending on how much you buy.

Has anyone tried these hollow points? I was wondering if they would be a decent round for carry. The only technical info Georgia Arms offers up is 925 FPS. How does this stack up against the CorBon hollow points?

After more searching, I found the answer to my own question....on the CorBon web page of all places!

CorBon loads purport to travel 1050 FPS in a 95 gr. JHP for the Makarov. However, the CorBon stuff is considerably more expensive--$12.22 for a 20 pack and $29.34 for a 50 pack on the CorBon site.

How much does the CorBon run elsewhere?

Hey Guyon:
If your talking about the Barnal JHP ammo, go to Makarov.com. You can get a link to Dan's Shooting Supplies. That ammo is $60.00 per 500 rounds ($6.00 per box) delivered. I just shot some last nite. Keeps them all in the black at 30'. I like the stuff. Nice looking bullet. I ordered on Monday, and UPS brought it Tuesday. This guy gets your order out fast.

I have tried the GA Arms 9x18 JHPs. They worked well in my Russian Com Mak. I am sure they are not as hot as the CorBons however even though I have never tried them. I use FMJ 9x18 as my Mak carry rounds. I would rather have more penetration in this cal.
