9mm version of the 1911 for .45s

I recently picked up a kimber compact and I love it. I kinda consider the 1911 style to be the king of .45s or at the very least more on the way to being above what I call combat accuracy. I consider the Glocks, HKs, and SIGs to be combat accurate. As in they are accurate enough but I consider my Kimber to be just above combat accurate and below a tuned smith job. I am looking for a 9mm in this kind of position. Above combat/factory accurate but obviously below a specialty gun job.

Even if I am wrong about this point of view, are there any 9mm versions to the 1911 or equivilent?

Are there any 9mms out there that are just above combat accurate?

At the very least if you don't agree with me on my defenitions I am looking for a 9mm hopefully in the compact range (above a Glock 26) but I tend to shy away from full size pistols as if the need ever arises I would have a heck of a time concealing for comfortable carry.

Thanks a bunch. By the way if you can, could you back up your opinions?

My cz75b will keep up with my kimber classic. Both are very accurate. also the cz is utterly reliable. Cz also makes compact models. Mark

What do you consider "combat accurate"? My P226, P228 and P225 are capable of two inch, five round, 25 yard groups from a sandbag rest. If I avoid caffine and concentrate I can do better than that. All three of these pistols are as they came from the factory. What do you want, a pistol that shoots MOA? (Not many handguns group three rounds into an inch at 100 yards.) I'll put any of my SIG Sauer pistols against your Kimber because I know that these pistols will leave you feeling like your Kimber is a round short and a recoil spring late.;) :D
