Just heard on the news that the crazed muslim officer who went on a murderous rampage was shot 3 times in the torso by an MP armed with a 9mm Beretta and kept firing before he submitted. Not only that, he is still alive and in stable condition. 9mm is no good.

This caliber has a long history of being questionable and yesterday proved it yet again.

RIP to those soldiers who were murdered.

9mm FMJ through the torso... I doubt I'd be able to keep up after that... but, here's my issue: Muslim?

I also heard that he was unconscious on a ventilator and that some of the wounded may have been hit by MP's and other authorities trying to stop him.

But, did you have to include "Muslim" in this? The rhetoric just screams something awful.

I also disagree that anything larger than 9mm would have done much different. There's far too many factors in an incident such as this to consider to state "he got shot 3 times with 9mm FMJ, not good enough." Besides, I heard he was hit 4 times.

I also think it's far too soon to even start using the Fort Hood incident as an example of anything.

yeah, but in the charged political climate where the enemy in our current war is primarily a Muslim organization, by stating it the way you did, you essentially indict all Muslims in your claim. There's no proof that his being Muslim had anything to do with it. There's also no info about what type of Muslim he was or how devout he was. The use of Muslim in this phrase is essentially the same as talking about Columbine being perpetrated by "two Christian students." Unless of course negative denotations were intentional.

Just saying, is all.

Besides, maybe the way that his being Muslim had to do with it was in such a way that he was ridiculed and pestered on base for being Muslim and that drove him into a sort of psychosis due to people constantly berating him for being Muslim.

Well what I don't know is where he was shot but what I am pretty sure of is that if an MP shot him it would have been ball ammo. It doesn't really matter anyway a shot to the hand or arm from even a 12 guage slug isn't lethal but one 22lr to the heart is a dead sob.

crazed muslim officer

Was he in fact a muslim?, and did him being a muslim have anything to do with what happend?

Link please

He was in fact Muslim. There's just no indication as to how devout he was or to what sect he belonged. His name was Malik Nidal Hasan and he was a Major in the Army. He worked with soldier returning from overseas to help them cope with stress and try to avoid PTS.

If it was an MP that shot him, it was FMJ, in just about any pistol caliber FMJ usually isnt a one shot stopper...plus we have no idea where exactly he was shot in the "torso" ... and given that early news reports are notoriously innacurrate when it comes to details in cases like this, i think your "9mm is no good" statement is a little premature...

This one is getting closed I'm sure.

So what should they have had a 45acp, or a .357mag? Maybe even a .38spl may have done better.

An ar pistol huh? cant say im looking forward to that being plastered all over the news...the anti's will have a hay day with that...because its so evil looking. I'm sure it will be a few days at the very least before we get any accurate info on what weapons were used..

What did I reply to? it dissappeared...

Looks like the 9mm did a fine job stopping him. I would assume the reson the casualties were so high was because it probably took several minutes for anyone responding to get to where the gunman was. A military base is about a gun free a zone as there is....I'm sure most everyone here knows the soldiers arent walking around with thier rifles...well they might be but they dang sure dont have any rounds for them...

Where has it been reported what firearms were used or which calibers were present? You are speculating it was 9mm used by all parties involved and it may not be the case.

The reports I saw indicated it was not a MP that killed the perp. It was reported that the perp did not use duty weapons.
