hey guys, wondering if ya'll could help me dope a hornaday 9mm 115gr FMJ at 1175FPS and a 25yard zero. looking for drop at 50 and 100 yards. I am hoping to run my 9milli ar15 sunday morning and wanna see what it's capable of, hoping not to spend all day figuring out zero's. I believe i'll be about -2" at 50 and -10" at 100, but I don't have a program that'll do 9mm to confirm my geusstimation.

thanks!!

I can't get the headings to format correctly and line up with the columns, but I'm sure you can figure it out.

Code:
65 F - 1201 Feet - 1.5 Sight Height - 10 mph/90 degree Crosswind

Range	Velocity	Impact	Drop	ToF	Energy	Drift
0	1175 -1.5	0	0	353	0
10	1147 -0.7	0.18	0.03	336	0.48
20	1124 -0.17	0.63	0.05	323	0.64
30	1102 0.09	1.35	0.08	310	0.88
40	1082 0.07	2.35	0.11	299	1.21
50	1063 -0.26	3.66	0.14	289	1.63
60	1046 -0.89	5.27	0.17	279	2.13
70	1029 -1.84	7.21	0.19	270	2.7
80	1014 -3.12	9.47	0.22	263	3.36
90	1000 -4.74	12.07	0.25	255	4.08
100	986 -6.71	15.02	0.28	248	4.88

Assuming Hornady item number 35557, and a MEASURED velocity of 1175, AND a sight height of 1.5"; the Hornady Ballistics Calculator shows:

25 Yard Zero
Distance Velocity Trajectory
Muzzle 1175 -1.5
25 1111 0
50 1059 -0.3
75 1016 -2.5
100 979 -6.8

However, if you adjust your zero out to about 75yrds, it flattens the curve somewhat.

75 Yard Zero
Distance Velocity Trajectory
Muzzle 1175 -1.5
25 1111 0.8
50 1059 1.4
75 1016 0
100 979 -3.5

With a 75yard zero, depending on distance the bullet may be below or above the line of sight, but for most targets (clay pigeons etc.) a center hold would suffice from muzzle to 100yrds.

Of course this all changes depending on the sight height of YOUR rifle!
