9mm Beretta 92fs Inox or Sphinx 2000S

I am in the works of considering a 9mm semi-auto pistol, I have
previous been a competetive shooter for a couple of years
( I shoot mostley with air and 22cal though ) , but eventually
I want to get a 9mm.
I`ve browsed the forum and and it seems that the 92fs is quite
popular though the sphinx 2000s is scarce...I don`t know
if I can get one I think so...I`m Norwegian and we should have
some dealers or at least contacts here.

Even if there were any contest here, the Sphinx's scarcity should tell you something. The Beretta is superior in every aspect. It's accurate, reliable, good-looking, and from what I hear, pretty good customer service. What happens if a piece breaks on your Sphinx, so sorry, you've got a several hundred dollar paperweight.

Don't go cheaper, go quality. Get the Beretta. Or better yet, GET A CZ 75. Now there's money well spent.

I must respectfully disagree with both sundance43.5 and Kermit.

The Swiss Sphinx is is still being produced and is available in Canada and S. America. Unfortunately, there is no US importer, hence it's rarity here in the States. Factory support and parts are available, however. The Sphinx is generally regarded as the finest CZ75 clone available, with quality surpassing the Czech offerings in many ways. It has been described as the "Swiss Watch" of firearms. They are very expensive, with new, standard models costing $1000+ and full race, fully customized models exceeding $2500 or more depending on options

Our poster, Archangel, appears to be from Scandinavia, (he's stated he's Norwegian). I would think that his/her access might be easier than here in the USA. If Archangel is able to afford it, I would recommend the Sphinx over the Beretta. I don't think quality would even be an issue with the Swiss offering.

I have both the Beretta 92 Inox and CZ75. The CZ can arguably be said to be among my most accurate pistols, even more so than the Beretta. I've held, fondled and lusted over a Sphinx, though I've never fired one. Unfortunately, it was a .40 S&W model. However, if I could find a 9mm Sphinx for a reasonable street price, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat.
 
Beretta or Sphinx

Without a doubt the Sphinx is the way to go. They are the Swiss watch of Cz's as previously stated elsewhere. I am familiar with Beretta's and competed with a factory compensated Beretta 92 in 9 X 21.It was nice but my box stock Sig P 220 .45 was more accurate. I own an all stainless compact 9 mm Sphinx pistol and it is superb in every detail. If you can find one and afford one by all means get it. I'm not knocking the Beretta but it is not a Sphinx.
 
hm...I better check up the prices...though I know I can
get the 92fs Inox for approx $800 or somewhere in that
range.
 
I HAVE SEEN THE SPINX PRODUCTS IN MY LOCAL AREA. I AM SURE I FONDLED A .380 A WHILE BACK. IS IT THAT THEY JUST DON'T IMPORT THE 9MM? I REALLY LIKED THE .380 OTHER THAN IT WAS A .380. THE QUALITY WAS SUPERB AND THE AMBI CONTROLS WERE EXCEPTIONAL. I HAVE A CZ-75 AS WELL. WHEN IN DOUBT, JUST BY THE CZ-75. IT WILL TIDE YOU OVER TILL THE SPINX MODELS BECOME AVAILABLE!
 
The Swiss have the reputation as building some of the highest quality products in the world. I looked on the Sphinx website not too long ago and they have a dealer search function that will locate dealers anywhere in the world; it's just there's no dealer in the US, but I'm sure there's one in the Scandinavia area. Before I got my P99, I considered getting a Sphinx but since there's no dealer currently in the US there's no availability here.

To answer the question, I'd definitely go with the Sphinx.
