9mm Ammo: Tula or Independence?

I can get Tula (wolf) ammo in steel casings for the same price as independence in brass. I have shot the Tula before and was pretty happy with it but I have heard that steel ammo is dirtier and possibly harder on the guns.

Is the independence any good? I have never shot that brand before. This is solely for range shooting and I have never had a misfire with the Tula.

wolf

I'd go with the WOLF. I have never had a single problem with it and I've put a minimum of 500 thru MY gun. If you've shot it before and it works for YOU and YOUR gun, then it's what I'd go with it. Just one mans oinion tho, so go with what works for you.

Out of 1000 rounds of Wolf in .40 S&W I have shot, 3 had fail to fires. 2 fired after re-feeding the cartridges, the third did not fire after 3 strikes. 3 out of a 1000 ain't bad for range ammo I guess. I bought 300 rounds of Independence at a gun show but I haven't fired any yet. My last ammo buy was for Speer Lawmen, I got it for $1 box less than the Independence, but about 50 cents more than the Wolf.

went through a couple boxes of independence .380 at the range and all 100 fired through the micro eagle without issue.

I've used Independence .357 mag. They were the cheapest in the store
and turned out to be very impressive.

I'd go with the Independence if the price is the same. At least then you have reloadable (or re-saleable) brass left over. I'm not sure what steel cases are worth but my range doesn't keep 'em, whereas the brass they resell (as scrap) by the drum-full.

As stated before, Independence ammo is made by "Ammunition Accessories, Inc." Lewiston, ID. Same exact thing you'll see on boxes of Blazer Brass.

I've used their .45acp and .357mag with no issues. Decent stuff. :)

I'd get the Independence brand, have 3 boxes of the .357mag flavor. Have not shot any yet. Still shooting the several hundred reloads I received from my in-law. At best you'll be able to use the brass again, that is if you reload.
