9mm Ammo for G26

What is the best 9mm self-defense ammo for my new toy? Currently, I am carrying 135gr. Hydrashoks. Used cor-bon in my HK USP40c and was pretty impressed, but the 9mm has many variants...+P, +P+...etc. Thanks in advance-

Hello. I carry Triton 125 gr +P "HiVel" JHPs in mine. They chronograph 1245 ft/sec from my Glock 26 on average. I've found them accurate and reliable.

Other chronographed velocities from the G26 that you might find of use:

Triton 115 gr "HiVel" JHP: 1280 ft/sec

Glaser 70 gr Silver (Prefrag) : 1514 ft/sec

Federal 124 gr Nyclad HP: 1063 ft/sec

Best.

I recommend you read the REAMS of debate that has already been conducted on the topic in the TFL archives.

I'm happy with the Corbon 115 gr. +P 9mm in my G26 right now. Relatively easy to control, fast, with a very high probability of expanding even through clothing even through the short barrel of my G26. I would be just as happy with Triton's stuff but I haven't come across any and I know the CB's work reliably so why change?

Lately though I've been thinking about Remington's Golden Sabre. That round looks nice in the gel tests (note photo!) at http://www.goldenloki.com/ammo/gel/9mm/gel9.htm

These are my favorite rounds in a short bbl. 9mm.

Gold Dot 124+p or non +p
Golden Saber 124+p(my carry round) or non +p
Corbon 115+p (the only malfunction I have ever had in a G26 was with a corbon 115gr a couple of years ago, but shot 100 more of this ammo with no malfunctions).

The 135 Personal Defense HS you are carrying is supposedly downloaded for reduced recoil. Unless you are recoil sensitive, I would shoot em up and go with something a bit lighter/hotter.

No sensitivities to hot rounds here. That was the last box of hydrashoks they had in stock, they were cheap, so I grabbed em.
Obviously looking for something a bit hotter- Thanks for the feedback.

Speer Gold Dot 124 gr. +P or any variation of the Gold Dot (Pro Load, Georgia Arms)
Winchester Ranger SXT 127 gr. +P+
Federal EFMJ 124 gr. +P

Since you're using a short barrel, you may want to consider 115 gr.

I've heard that the Speer Gold Dot 115 gr. +P+ is good. I've also heard good things about the Federal 9BPLE +P+ Hi Shok.

According to a test by a guy from parkcitiestactical, the Hydrashoks have a lot of flash, but it could be different from gun to gun.

I would love to get my hands on those Ranger SXT 127's. I've heard nothing bad about those.

A lighter bullet is better for a shorter barrel? Learn something new everyday-

I agree on the 127 +p+ rangers BUT

Everyone is gouging on price for these rounds. The only place to find them reasonably priced is Botach, and you will be lucky if you receive your order from them. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Gold dot 124 grain either standard or +P. Or the winchester 115 grain JHP. as about all I ever carry in the G26
