9mm AA Arms AP9 misfeeds

This weapon is very similar to the Tec9 in action and appearance, though I have the long-barreled target model which holds promise to be far superior, accuracy wise, to the Tec9.

But the major problem is getting a misfeed and/or smokestack once every several rounds. No, it is not limp-wristing since even with the weapon's butt against a steel post, it still smokestacked.

Granted that I've aftermarket cheap magazines which may be most of the problem, but I also suspect the incredibly strong recoil spring.

Disassembly is a real pain compared to the Tec9. It requires removal of a pin with a needlenose pliers whereas the Tec9 just unscrews from the back and thus field stripping is quick and easy.

Has anyone any dealings with this company? I've called and talked with them. They suggested I send it back (UPS) for them to check out. When I do so I'll also get a couple 10-round factory mags for it ($31 each) so that I've at least some mags that will work right. Maybe it is the spring and my aftermarket 30-rounders will work after they make some adjustments to the weapon.

To those who may suggest using hotter ammo, I've tried Fiocchi's 115 grain stuff which is +P compared to average fare. No luck.

The tops of the mags are being worn and bent by the bolt travel so thus I'm convinced the bolt travel rearward is hampered. But that spring is a humdinger! Just pulling the bolt back to chamber a round is an exercise in leverage and often I get cut by the sharp edges (I know, some fluffing and buffing would help - but first I'll see what the factory will do).
