9mm 357 38 taurus

No...Do you mean the new Taurus PT38? That is a super .38 that also comes in .45apc.

On the Taurus website if you click on 'what's new' they have a bunch of new stuff that will be available soon...

Porting is holes in the upper front of barrel to cut down on the recoil in the larger cal.Taurus makes a 905 in 9MM

Yea, but does a 9mm 4" revolver of this size really need a ported barrel? That makes it a less than ideal candidate for "social business".

Sorry was just answering his question about porting,NO the 905 is not ported.I wonder if he means that new Taurus that is coming out it will shoot .38,.357,.38 super and 9MM all out of the same gun. There was a thread about it a few days ago but only rumors :)

Taurus Triad

The new gun is called the Triad. I'm guess it's no different than the standard 38/357, the cylinder is just relieved slightly for the taurus stellar clips.

I also saw the 38/357/9mm/38 super, this too would be possible with the right clips.

Of all the new stuff Taurus is coming out with I saw some BIG bore stuff in some really short barrels. That could be interesting.

Personally I'd just like some 3" barrel stuff to come out.

Makes you wonder if they will get any accuracy out of that gun in all 4 calibers.Looks good guess time will tell??????

This piques my interest

If this new model allows 38/357/9mm all in the SAME cylinder, this would be a very versatile revolver to have in an emergency bag. Plenty of ammo everywhere!
What about 9x21 or 9x23? The Max OAL of a 357 is 1.59", and the Max OAL of the 9x21 and 9x23 are 1.61 and 1.25 or so, respectively.
Chamber pressures would have to be OK, too. I can't recall them off the top of my head.
This could be cool!

Taurus engineers can design guns but they can't make work.I would wait for feed back on this one.Does anyone remember the Millenium series cracking and coming apart? This concept is not new as Ruger made a limited edition Vaquero in 45 Colt with an extra 45ACP cylinder. They also had Blackhawk 357 MAG that had a 9MM cylinder. There was also the Medusa revolver.I wonder how accurate the Taurus gun is with 9MM.

For the Taurus Triad to work effectively, they'll have to hold their barrel tolerances somewhat tight -- like the Colt Python -- say to .359 or .356". Otherwise the 9mm bullet (.355") will be inaccurate out of a .357 barrel. This isn't as bad in a revolver as an auto as gas pressure can be "vented" through the flash gap.

Question: Isn't the .38 Super cartridge case a little "fatter" than the .38/357?

Someone mentioned Taurus Big Bore Snubbies. I'd certainly like to see them bring back the .41 Mag Model 415Ti and let them be available in Kalifornia! :D

While we're at it,I would like Taurus to bring back the 44 Special 5 shot with a 3 or 4 inch barrel on a medium frame.I don't remember which model it was but I saw a used one 2 years back but had no cash.I keep pestering Ruger to make a GP-100 in 44 Special.Oh well.

I never saw the Taurus but I do have a Rossi M720 DAO 3" 44SPL and I love it.

The closest thing I have now is a M624 Smith "lew horton" that was kinda pricey.

A 'value', and selection of 44's would be nice from Taurus.

According to the Taurus website, the Triad revolvers will NOT be offered (at least initially) in light weight aluminum alloy or titanium. Just personal preference, but I'm not interested till they do.

Also...

Here's a pic of one of my Taurus Total Titaniums chambered in .45 Colt. I think it would be fantastic if this gun could be made to function properly with .45 Colt/.45 ACP/.45 GAP/.45 AR.
