96 Mauser Price?

I have a chance to trade for a 96 mauser. I have no idea what it is worth. I would have to say it is in average condition and has been partially sporterized. I don't know if the serial #s match or not. Can someone suggest a price range for this type rifle or offer some suggestions on how to grade it?
 
Might help others help you if you mention make/year and any other info about this mauser. I take it you haven't seen it in person to see if the #'s match?

I guess I'll have to get more info. I was just wanting a price range to get an idea of what it might be worth. Yes, I've seen it but it was some time ago and I can't remember about the serila #s. It says 1904 on the receiver.

Are we talking C96 or M96? Sporterized makes it sound like the rifle. Mostly originals go for around $300 around here, if there's significant bubbaing I wouldn't pay more than $200 unless it's matching numbers and $100 for a stock and some parts at the gun show makes it in a $500 vintage shooting match candidate.
