I just saw on the map that we are the hottest spot in the entire US today. My Granny wouldn't have believed it. Too bad the turkeys (if there are any) aren't as hot.:( How's the season going for the rest of you guys?

Not so good for me here in OK. Pretty strange season this year. Opening weekend, turkeys were not gobblin and we found three different nesting hens. One of the hens already had eight eggs in her nest. I was hoping for a secondary breeding, but not much so far. Most of the folks I've talked to say their having the same trouble. Alot of people that are killin birds are heading them off going to the roost. It'll do, but there is nothing like callin them in,atleast not in my opinion. Two weeks before season my son and myself put around 80 or 90 to bed,Toms were gobblin their heades off. I really thought it was goin to be a heck of a season.

I missed my shot today, Well it was only a silhouette on a walking trail. We had our anual black powder shoot today.
Kraig, keep the snow in Wy. We had over an inch yesterday. Today 75 and just a wonderful day for a shoot.

it was 88 yesterday here in NJ. not sure on how the turkey hunters my way are doing. seena few nice ones taken and some walking across my road. when i'm on my way to work:(. permits sold out fast in alot of zones here. i did not get a chance to get one. maybe in the fall.

I only made it out two days.

Day 1: JACK SQUAT on Tuesday. Saw two hens cross a road at daybreak and that was it.

Day 2: Supposed to be gorgeous on Friday. Go out, starts nice, little bit of gobbling at sunup, hen walks by. Too good to be true though, sky opens up for an hour or two. Shivering cold, when it clears up a couple coyotes come running through making all kinds of noise so I figure it's safe to assume I need to relocate. Finally sit down near where I've called in birds the past two years when my phone starts going psycho. It's work, some things need to file before the weekend, rush rush rush, bla bla bla. Speed my butt off for 90 miles back home (I really like to get out there) and work 'til dinner.

In sum, slow season all around. I'm hoping I can get back out in a week or so but I'm not sure. :(

Wow. I guess I'm suppose to feel some better now? They seem to be henned up here--if you can locate one. Most of my buds say they're going the other way after fly down or just not gobbling well. -7-

Yeah turkey season was definatly HUNTING this year. I've never hunted them so hard and come up empty. Usually I've called in plenty by now, have lost interest and started bass fishing. I've not killed a single bird nor called one in for someone else and to top it all off my bass boat is sittin in the front yard with a for sale sign on it. Man thats depressing! Come on deer season.:D

Second weekend here in Kentucky. It's been around 86 on both Saturday and Sunday. Not having any luck here either. Heard some gobbles this morning but never pulled them in.

I've hunted 4 days this season so far and have seen 1 big tom that was a long way off. Other than that, nothing.

mississippi season

Our season has been wet and windy. Not much gobbling activity.
Only one week left I can only hunt one day.
I am planning to bushwack him. I am gonna set up where he hangs out and not touch a call.
