92fs parkerizing...possible??

Hi,

I love the looks of a nice military parkerizing. I was wondering if it was possible to have this done to a Beretta 92fs or M-9 pistol. And if so where? Thanks.

If you have the Bruniton model, then the barrel and slide can be Parkerized. The outside of the barrel is just a regular matte bluing and can be removed with any regular blue remover. The Bruniton on the slide is a Teflon epoxy. It would be removed the same as any of the other Teflon finishes such as Black-T. Sandblasting I guess.

The frame and slide of the INOX 92 are stainless and cannot be Parkerized.

On either model the frame is aluminum which cannot be Parkerized.

Parkerizing may look good, but its not really a very durable finish. Particularly for a handgun which will get a lot of holster wear.

Check Arizona Response Systems Metacol finish. One of their colors (I think its called "classic patina") is intended to simulate the parkerized look.

They do top quality work, and they're very reasonable. The resulting finish would look like parkerizing but be much more durable.
