9 MM Mauser Export

Buddy got a broom handle and never loaded for it yet and can’t hardly find brass for it.
Is there and cases close to this caliber that can form to this to shoot and what about dies, could a 9 MM die work or not really.
Really need some input from someone who knows, thanks

So, are those castings you posted Jim Watson, are those the same for the 9MM Mauser Export ? Asking because I have no idea.
And that second link you posted goes to the same casings. Doesn’t show the dies.

Yes, 9mm Mauser Pistol is the same as 9mm Mauser Export.

Sorry, I was trying to post off the iPad. Here are their dies.

Hmm, 9x23 dies are not as common as I thought.

I would lube some cases and feed them into a 9mm P sizing die and see what happened.

I haven't got a source for loading data, it is not even in Cartridges of the World.
Some say to start with .38 Auto, 9mm Largo, or .38 Super data.

Treat it gently, it is a very scarce item.

You said you’d load them in a 9 MM P sizing die , just exactly what you referring a 9 MM P die is exactly.
A regular 9 MM die or…?
And those casings you showed me are 9MM WIN MAG.
Is that the exact same as a 9MM Mauser Export or will I have to cut them down ?

Yes, 9mm P is 9mm Parabellum, 9mm Luger, 9mm NATO, etc. "regular" 9mm.

The cases I showed from Buffalo Arms are already cut off to the proper length.

I did a good bit of searching and found several references to loading the longer 9mms like 9x21 Italian, 9x23 Largo and Winchester, and 9x25 Mauser with "regular 9mm" dies.

I repeat, be careful. I do not think this is a good gun to learn how to reload on, it is rare and valuable.

Thank you for all the info.
This gun actually belongs to my dentist , which is a reloader though I don’t know how long and I’ve been loading around 30 years. I’ve just never played around with a caliber like this and yes, it’s a really expensive handgun but he bought it to shoot it and I told him I’d try and help him out. Thanks for everything

Just came across this thread and 'Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions' was handy. it says to start with a 9mm Win Mag case, trim to length, chamfer, and size with 'proper die' or 'reduce case mouth with a 38Spl sizer.
Good luck.
