Yes it will be enough gun for brown bear. It is hard to say how "painful" it would be in the CZ 550, as recoil is a very subjective thing. I will say that my lightweight .35 Whelen with good handloads (pretty much the ballistic twin of the 9.3x62) seems to have more recoil than my heavier .375 H&H. Rifle weight, stock design, and individual shooters tolerances vary widely, making recoil hard to estimate.
