Turk,
I have a switch barrel Sauer 200 with barrels in 30/06 and 9.3x62. it is one of the greatest calibers their is. Think of it as sort of a 35 Whelen with good bullets. I have used it on Bear, Elk, and Deer. It is a bit much for deer unless you are after Huge Whitetails or Big Mule Deer. It worked great on Elk and Black Bear and I would have no problem using it on Brown Bear as well. It is still legal in some African countries where 375 H&H is the minimum. Bullets are a bit hard to find, so I tend to stick with the Hornadays for pratice and Barnes for serious work. Any powder that is on the slow end of the burning scale for the 06 works well. I will hav eto check my notes for actul loading data though.
