8mm Mauser

With all the surplus Mausers in the world, you'd think one of the Big Three US ammo manufacturers, or perhaps a european firm like Wolf or S&B, would produce new manufacture, non-corrosive, reloadable 8mm Mauser. Sure, there are no new rifles being made in that cartridge. But, to my knowledge, new rifles in either .303 British or 6.5x55mm Sweede are rare in the US (plenty of surplus ones, though) but those cartridges are manufactured new.

Just a thought.

Federal, PMC, Remington, Sellier & Bellot, and Winchester all make 8mm Mauser ammo.

Where have you looked?

I've seen at least one of those brands at every gun show and well-stocked gun store I've ever been in.

I've seen the S&B for sale in Shotgun News and Cheaper Than Dirt's catalog.

I've shot all of them except the PMC in my 98k and FN-49.

Nightcrawler, don't waste your time with the commercially loaded ammo here by the Big 3 (Winchester, Federal, Remington). This ammo is worthless and a very expensive source for reloadable brass. The reason I say this is because of the levels they are loaded too. Because of lack of knowledge or simple carelessness, some people have loaded full power "S" type 8mm with the .323 bullet in the older and weaker 8mm with the .318 bore. This causes drastic increases in pressure and some KB's. Because of this, The "Big 3" have downloaded the commercial ammo to prevent the "mis-informed" from using the .323 ammo in the older .318 bores. It has been downloaded to practically 30-.30 levels. Very weak for a 8mm Mauser. Save your time and money and either handload to full potential or buy the Sellier and Bellot soft point hunting load.
