What guns use 8mm Mauser Ammo, I know K98, MG-42 auto and semi and the Belgium made one use that ammo. Anyone knows another gun using it, besides the Mausers?

8X57 is very good popular in many parts of the world as a hunting round, so there are dozens or types and makes of rifles chambered for it worldwide. It is as popular in Europe as the 30-06 is here in the USA.

Its pretty much the European 30-06, the 8mm IS 200 grain bullet can be safely pushed to 2700 fp/s which makes it a perfect all-round cartridge. Tons of hunting rifles are chambered for it.

Its a fine, fun cartridge but the recoil can be a bit stout with he heavier bullets like 200-225. 150's are easy to shoot.

three - 8mm's

A Yugoslavian M24/47 mauser mfg between 1924-32 and factory reworked between 1947-52 it shoots 1-1/4" at 100yds(with a scope)and a 1941 German K98 mauser with a "Mojo" ghost ring sight shoots 3"-4" at 100 yards and a Yugoslavian M48A mfg between 1948-54 in factory military dress, shoots 4"-6" at 100yards; all were shooting my handloads 175 grn Sierra's, 180 grn Nosler Ballistic Tips, and 200 grn Speer Hot Cores at 2700, 2600, and 2500 fps respectively. Even with the 200 it recoils less than an 06. Never shot the 150's but the 8mm is a very good killer.
Love them Mausers !!

The Mauser rifle in 8x57 was the service rifle of China up to the Communist takeover, so it was very much used outside Europe.

Check this site, sporting rifles, all made for 8-57. (with other cals, as well)
8-57, originally known as 7.92 mauser, is the first bullet designed for smokeless powder, by mauser.
Zastava arms has a license from Mauser, ever since before the WWII.

Today, majority of sporting rifle makers produce for this caliber, amongst the others.
