8mm 98K?

Markings: The WWII Kar. 98K had no crest or manufacturer's markings on the receiver except a 2-3 letter manufacturer code. All had Nazi eagle inspectors marks on the receiver and all major parts. Bolts were serial numbered to the gun. All were chambered for 7.9 caliber (what we call the 8mm Mauser). Early guns had a nice blue finish. Wartime guns were given a quick light blue-black finish. Only close to the end of the war were a few parkerized. After the war, Kar. 98k's went all over the world. Some countries ground off the swastika marks, other re barrelled, mostly for 7.62 x 51 NATO (.308 Winchester). There are still a few around in original condition, but they are getting scarce.
Happy hunting!
