does remington make a 870 synthetic stock with a sling stud? do other 3rd party manufacturers make one?

My Remington 870 Marine Magnum has sling studs installed...

it was bought used (by my father first) and had them then...

so, it MIGHT have been added.

BUT!!!

I have seen other Marine Magnums with the same studs, located in the exact same place, so my thoughts on it are that it came from Remington this way... (indication #2 is that the mag extension clamp assembly includes an intergal foreward mounted stud, so the rear one is likely factory also...)

you might inquire (at a gunstore, or with an E-mail to Remington) about this...

If I'm not mistaken, some of the Special Purpose and Hunting guns come with sling studs.

I found one black synthetic stock with sling stud on eBay. Think it ran me about $25.

I've also installed a sling stud in a synthetic stock using the following order:

- small pilot hole as a guide
- larger shallow hole the same size as the stud (countersink hole)
- medium sized hole the size of the shank on the stud
- final hole slightly smaller than threads

I used Black and Decker Pilot Point bits that are flatter than normal bits. I also was extremely careful with depths on each hole.

My first try though would be eBay. You can find parts there WAY below factory or retail prices.

Most welcome. I think it's the same guy I got mine from. He must have a surplus of Remington stocks.

Mine was nice. In new condition.
