870 Slugs

There's no possible correct answer. Each barrel is a law unto itself. In 40 years of slug use I've found one slug that performs best in two separate shotguns.

Buy a mess of those 5 packs in different brands. Bench test until one is seen to be tighter grouping than the rest. Then, go buy as much of that one as you can afford.

HTH.....

I agree with Dave McC; I have tested probably every brand of slugs made to date, including some reloaded ones. Sometimes it is hard to believe the differences the way one gun will shoot a particular brand and another. The most accurate slug gun I have is a Ithaca Deerslayer ll as it shoots most slug into small groups, but there are brands it just won't shoot well. Try a bunch of different manufacturers and see which YOUR gun shoots well. Incidently, I have had the best luck with Remington Copper solids, Hornady slugs and Lightfields. At least in my guns.

Dixie Terminator

You may want to look at Dixie Slugs. Their Terminator is designed to approach the rifled tube as a true 12 bore rifle with 740 grains of hard cast lead moving out at 1300 fps. It is designed to punch a .72 caliber hole and penetrate not flatten out.

Dave is right...you will even notice some variations between batches. For what it is worth, mine shoot best with the normal winchester ones.
