I purchased an 870P in late 2001 or early 2002, cant quite remember. It's been an excellent safe queen, having shot it infrequently, my old Express is the workhorse. I was cleaning the Police model, had the bolt and TG out, and as I wiped down the inside of the receiver I noticed that the ejector spring is not tightly riveted down as in the Express, but floats about 1/16th inch. I can actually lift the ejector and it will stay raised without springing back down.
Is this normal? I haven't had any ejection failures, then again I've hardly shot this piece...
