870 Police Sling Stud?

Hello all! I recently switched the wood furniture of my 870 Police over to polymer furniture. I got the Remington made factory polymer stock set meant for the 870 Police. I have a question though, it came with the sling stud for the buttstock separate. It had a hole in the stock already so I just screwed the sling stud in with my hands and a used a cheater bar to tighten it down all the way.

Is this the correct installation of the sling stud? I assumed the stud was "self tapping" and did not use a drill. Will it come out?

It will come out if you keep turning it counter clockwise!

While it wouldn't be worth it to redo it now, adding epoxy to the threads the next time you do something similar with a synthetic stock will remove your worries and let you sleep better.
