Thinking about doing the same thing but, haven't heard any reviews from the TFl crowd. Got a good review in one of the magazines out there though. If I can remember which one I'll let you know.
I have the Remington 870P MAX and I absolutely love it. Nothing that I can complain about. A very sturdy shotgun, made very well. Plus, you can NEVER go wrong with the 870 design. So many police departments, tactical teams, military forces, hunters, and home defenders can't be wrong. The Surefire forend works great, although I'm probably going to occasionally start taking the light off during live-fire during the day just to minimize wear and tear (haven't had a problem with it though), but I do acknowledge the importance of training with it the same way I'll be using it in a real life situation. I've got a Specter Gear (www.spectergear.com) 3 point tactical sling in the Coyote Tan color and a 6-shot buttstock shell holder also in Coyote Tan, and also from Specter Gear. The sling comes with a front mounting bracket that slips inbetween the magazine tube and barrel, very sturdy. I can't be happier with the weapon or the additional accessories I've put on it. I was going to put a side-saddle shell holder on the reciever instead of the buttstock holder but I like the additional weight in the back to counter-weight the Surefire forend a little bit. Hope this helps!
Got one here. It was a loaner, like it enough to keep it.
The Specter items are good quality.
I'll be putting a four-shot shell holder from Mesa Tactical on this one, the six-banger gets in the way of balanced receiver carry.
