870 Marine Magnum - Is There a Different Extended Mag or Mag Cap?

Does anyone know if there is a different extended mag tube for the Rem 870 Marine Magnum (that matches the color)? I don't like the tube extending beyond the muzzle. Also, is there a plated mag cap for it, if you wanted to take off the extended mag tube?

I'm assuming the Marine Magnums don't have the mag-tube dimples, since they have an extended magazine?

Thanks.

There's only one factory extension for the Magnum Marine.

The extended cap on the end sticks out for a reason.
It was originally used as the mounting point for a bayonet.

The original extension was part of a military development, and the magazine clamp had the latch part of the mount attached to it.
The cap is sized to fit a M16 bayonet.

For whatever reason, Remington has never seen a need to change the design, so even though it's no longer needed, they just left the cap alone.

The Magnum Marine does not have dimples in the tube.
There is no plated cap available from Remington to convert to a standard length magazine.

What you could easily do is buy an old style magazine cap, NOT an Express cap, and have it nickel plated, or even chrome plated at a bike shop.

How about installing a flash suppressor or extended adjustable choke on the barrel to make it just a little longer?
