870 Express FTF

Took the 870's clay hunting over the weekend and I had a couple FTF's on one of them. If it was a pistol, I'd polish the feed ramp.
It was like the shell lifter was not lifting fast enough. The shell would jam underneath the chamber. Simply pulling back on the pump handle to relieve the pressure and allow it raise the rest of the way would load the errant shell with no problems.
Any thoughts on this? We shot over 150 shells through the two 870's and only this one had any trouble. Twould be bad in a HD SG.
Thanks,
Mike

New one on me, Mike, but I'd wager that use will fix this all by itself. Either the parts will work polish, or you'll learn a stroke that doesn't cause the FTFs.

With the 870 unloaded, pull the foregrip back. Look at the ramp as you push the foregrip forward. Just as you begin the movement, the ramp with swing up (to feed the shell) and then snap back into the lower position. Make sure the ramp is travelling all the way up. As previously stated, it may just need working the parts enough to free them up. It may also be dirty at the hinge of the ramp and need cleaning and lubricated.
