When I did my latest round of shotgun window shopping,
It seemed like all the shops with new 870 Expresses had barrels that stated:
2 3/4" and 3", **only use 3 1/2" if receiver is rated for 3 1/2" shells.
And of course on the non-supermag 870 expresses they were regular receivers.
So it seems like it's cheaper for them to make 1 size barrel/chamber and switch up the receivers.
Are there any potential problems with a steady diet of 2 3/4" out of a 3 1/2" chamber?
(by the way, my latest shotgun pondering has come down to Baretta 3901 vs a Synthetic 870 Express with plans for an ATI Akita stock - adjustable LOP and comb height for $100... like a poor man's Jack West stock.)
