870 Choke Tubes

The choke tubes for the 870 say lead or steel shot only.

I want to be able to use any load - like copper plated OO buckshot, or copper BB load - what type of tubes should I be looking for?

also - is it okay to use automotive anti-sieze lube for choke tube lube?

Describing the mission might help, but...

I wouldn't use anything tighter than Modified on steel or copperplated big shot.

For 00, try a Skt II choke, and if that doesn't get the pattern you want, go to IC. If that's still lacking, have a competent smith do the forcing cone.Or maybe have the cone done first, it's an excellent mod with no downside.

At typical HD ranges, choke is meaningless. Regardless of choke, the shot will hit as a solid mass up to maybe 20 feet.

10 yard pattern from my chokeless HD 870 is about 5".

IMO,unless you have a very big house, choke makes no practical difference. I'd would stay with the more open chokes, there's a trifle less kick, according to some experts, but I cannot feel any difference.

Hope this helps...
