WHat bits from a 870 and 1100 can you mix 'n match? Some bits, like the recivers are just too alike....

You could try to change the stock - but the Model 1100 always had a much nicer stock in my opinion.

Very few parts will "drop in" from the 870 to the 1100/1187.
The safety button, trigger parts, bolt parts, trigger assy pins and choke tubes.
The entire "trigger assy" will not pull out of one, and go into the other without modifications by a trained gunsmith.
The forearms of course will not swap, but the rear buttstock will with modification. The 1100/1187 have a recoil spring tube inside the stock...the 870 dosent.
The 1100 and 870 use the same stocks as far as looks go. The 870 Wingmaster and 1100 both used a hi-gloss walnut stock. Walnut is walnut...sometimes you get nice grain, sometimes you don't.

Instead of saying certain parts of the trigger assembly - I just said the trigger assembly because most people couldn't even take one apart if they wanted to.
The finish on the stock that was the high gloss was called RKW...
